DESCRIPTION: Approximately 2-3 months ago I was suffering from a complete lack of energy, but in addtion to that I also had a measurable amount of ulnar nerve damage to my arms. This condition had started as work injury about a year before this time. I had been through an innumerable amount of therapies from physical therapy to chiropractic with no results and a condition that continued to worsen. Unable to take NSAID's because of a sensative stomach (they tried about 7 different kinds...YIKES!), the pain, numbness and swelling was nearly constant. After getting an ulcer from the last attempt at pain meds, I saw an MD who prescribed a ulcer med that made my hair fall out! THAT WAS IT! There had to be something better!!! A friend had suggested some alternatives to everything I'd tried and referred me to a wonderful ND here in Colorado (Dr. William Nelson). I was pretty skeptical by this time but I was at my witt's end. So I made the appointment, went to see him, and the first thing he suggested was your book. Along with some herb supplements to heal my digestive track, I started the diet right away. Within a few days I noticed a marked difference in my energy level and over the next few weeks I lost a noticable amount of weight. I began by just changing a few things--keeping away from the "avoids" as much as possible, but not frustrating myself with restrictions. No diet has ever worked for me the way this one has. AND best of all, my arms were finally healing. My initial EMG had showed 17% overall nerve damage to my left ulnar nerve and about 6% actual neuropathy(sp?). The traditional medical opinion was that I didn't have any other options besides a career change or surgery. However, after about a month on the eating plan, including light excercise, I was retested (3 months after the initial EMG). My results were 8% ABOVE normal with no signs of damage. Since NOTHING else had worked, I'm convinced! CONVINCED! Convinced!!! that this works! After eating right for several months, I've lost around 15 pounds and my body sure tells me when I've eaten a "no-no." The other great thing I've noticed is a tremendous decrease in my allergic symptoms from seasonal allergies, dust, cats, etc. I've told positively everyone I know, (well, at least those who will listen haha) about my results and several family members have started making changes along with me. THANKS! I feel like I have my life back!!! My only frustration has been that the food lists aren't broad enough. Also, many of the foods you list are hard to find. A suggestion for you next book might be a "where to shop" type of list. Along with a quest for a decent health food store I've had to do a lot of lable reading. NOTHING on the shelf these days, other than produce or meats, has easy to understand ingredients. I've pretty much decided that if it has more than 3 syllables, I probably shouldn't be eating it. However, it would be nice if you could list some good brands to look for when you give a food suggestion. Ideally, we'd all grow our own foods, and grind our own flour and know everything that's going in to a recipe... but being a full time student and working full time I need things FAST! (I know, I know--very BAD for a type "A").Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this (you or your staff). God bless your efforts to help people heal. Can't wait for your next book! Sincerely,Shawn Marie FrazierP.s. Hey, this is my first fan letter to anyone..ever! Could I be called a "groupie"? LOL I have also lost approximately fifteen pounds in addition to the general overall improvement.
