BIOACTIVITYIt is relatively specific for human type O erythrocytes that are agglutinated at a minimal lectin concentration 0.3 microgram/ml. The lectin agglutinates A, B and O erythrocytes with a preference for O erythrocytes. The lectin is not mitogenic when tested with rabbit lymph node lymphocytes.
