| BIOACTIVITY | Mitogenic, immunosuppressive and phagocytic activity. The lectin agglutinates human ABO erythrocytes equally well. It is mitogenic to mouse spleen lymphocytes but is not cytotoxic. See: Phytochemistry 1988 (27) 313-317 It also inhibits the phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages to homologous erythrocytes and induces blastoid transformation of spoleen cells.
