CHARACTERIZATION
BIOACTIVITYALA agglutinates human red blood cells regardless of their blood group . The isolectins ALA-I and ALA-II have similar binding specificity towards asialomucins and similar blood type agglutination recations. See: carbohydrate Res. 1987 (159); 137-148 It also reacts with pig, buffalo, cow pigeon, sheep, rat mouse, duck and rabbit erythroctes. See: carbohydrate Res.
