DESCRIPTION: Hi Doctor, I realize that I have only been on the diet for a brief time (although I don't feel like I have been on one), I want you to know that I was your biggest critic. I had your book for a year before I tried the change. Here is a brief med history: asthma (severe), hayfever, hospitalized for severe bleeding ulcer, acid reflux disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. 20 pound weight gain in the past year alone on my "vegetarian, all pasta diet".I have been on your plan for a week. I have lost 4 pounds and I am eating 3 meals a day. I have 50 percent more energy which comes in handy because I am a distance runner. I have not had one episode of "explosive" stools or a stomach ache due to acid reflux. My Doctor and I are very interested to see how much of a change this will make to my stomach and intestinal problems.
