DESCRIPTION: 5 months ago I read Gittleman's "Your Body Knows Best". I found it fascinating. Then I read your book and tried to merge the 2. I finally adopted ERFYT food list. I have a better sense of well being when I follow the program. I had lost 15 pounds during the year through illness, stress and missed meals. I wanted to continue to lose, but realized how far down I had come and was more concerned about my health than at any time in my life. I am 55. I had never lost a pound without severe restricition. I had vowed never to diet again and that I would always be overweight. I have used a dozen different systems throughout my lfe to lose weight. Weight Watchers, Dr. Adkins, and Dr. Abrevanel. Weight Watchers I lost, but only when I literally starved myself. I didn't loose much with Adkins, but I felt better and could eat nuts and not gain weight. I found it hard to maintain without vegetables. I also felt better with Abbrevanel but got bored with eating rice and eggs so much. I am a T Type on his scale. He made some sense. I have kept records for years on everything I put into my mouth when I diet. So I was quite amazed to learn that in fact I only lost when I starved myself. But then I would gain it back because I couldn't maintain or I got too weak. I did manage to lose another 3-5 pounds on ERFYT. I still want to lose more. But what I discovered was much more significant. I could eat really well and be satisfied and maintain or even lose weight depending on what I ate. I could also feel good in the process. I follow the plan 70 - 80% and can tell a difference when I do. Getting exercize is important but I was so weakened from illness and poor nutrition that I could not exercize. I worked this summer to be consistent and felt better than I had in years. However I had to return to work and am not taking care of my health and missing meals and exercize again. I have found that my body actually craves exercize and I feel edgy when I don't.My main health concern has always been lack of energy. I am basically healthy but low energy. I have been on synthroid for 25 years. I am Type O, of course. I have been using bladderwrack 1-2 times a day. Gaia's liquid. I'm looking forward to getting your formula. i still struggle with energy but have found some good guidelines thru ERFYT. Having enough energy to exercize is challenging.Allergies are another trouble spot for me. I tend to have an allergic reaction to mold or cold or dust or the lectins in food. I am set off unless I can control it with antihisitimines. I go into a cold and secondary infection. Last year I was sick 5 times. The Last time I ran 101 degree temp for 3 days which is unheard of for me. The 3rd time around when I felt it coming on , I went to the doctor to help head it off. I got nothing. I was patronized and asked if I were depressed. I was so angry because I wanted to know how to be healthy and well and avert illness, but I guess that wasn't something he knew about. I am hopeful that I can stay well this year. I have cut out wheat, corn, potatoes, cabbage and dairy to a large degree. Altho I still experience difficulty ( I live in the Ohio River Valley which is notorious for allergies) I hope to be able to control it through diet this year. I ordered Urtica dioca and hope it helps.I feel that you have given me a great gift in this nutritional system. It makes sense but it also has made a difference in how I feel. I am so used to hype that I am truly surprized that what you espouse really works. I feel confident that for the first time in my life I can eat and not gain weight as long as I stay within the limits of my beneficial and neutral foods. I have more to say but I have already lost connection once and I don't want to have to retype this again. Thank you!
