Not for nothing, but by my calculations the chaos in the US and other secondary countries will hit in about 9-14 days. Use the next few days to get prepared for your own distancing, and make sure the sick and old geezers you look after are in at least semi-isolation by beginning of next week.
Think of it as a vacation you are going on, where you don’t go anywhere; a rare opportunity to alphabetize your junk mail, or Q-tip the beveled edges of your flat screen TV.
Hopefully government and industry are working on
- Mass production of masks, effective sanitizer
- A consistent policy to close events
- Building/converting care facilities.
- Freeing up automated testing capabilities.
- Getting medical supplies properly distributed
- Fast-tracking antivirals
I fully understand if people consider this alarmist. However I am not an alarmist by nature. You can knock me all you want later on if I’m wrong.
That would be great, wouldn’t it?
When we can’t provide masks for everyone, and thus are forced to tell people to not use them so that health care workers can, you’ve hit bottom. Look at this video. This is how the Chinese ramped up mask production in one factory that did not previously make masks. We put a man on the moon. Jeez!
The stock market will recover.
The airlines will recover.
The cruise lines will recover.
The oil industry will recover.
Dead people will not recover.
Stay safe and do what you have to do.
For yourself and for others.
